Nearly seven years have passed since the first “Den of Thieves” was released. The movie made $80 million at the worldwide box office at the time, making it a surprising success. Not bad for a movie that only reportedly cost $30 million. Years later, Lionsgate is hoping for even greater success with the sequel.
According to the teaser for “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera,” the movie is a follow-up to the first one and carries on the plot. The movie follows Gerard Butler’s character, Big Nick, as he continues to search Europe for Donnie (O’Shea Jackson, Jr.). But after he locates Donnie, the two decide to work together on what might turn out to be one of the largest diamond heists in history.
O’Shea Jackson, Jr. and Gerard Butler are the main actors in the new movie. Christian Gudegast is the author and director of “Pantera.” The first “Den of Thieves” movie was written and directed by the same person who wrote “London Has Fallen.” Therefore, it is evident that he and Butler get along well.
The Den of Thieves 2: Pantera Teaser Is Amazing
The plot of Den of Thieves 2 shifts from Los Angeles to other European cities because Donnie is pursuing the World Diamond Center. Additionally, compared to the first movie, the sequel has a more European tone and aesthetic. According to Gudegast, the European settings aren’t merely for show; the film blends aspects of American and European filmmaking. This is emphasized in the video, which features some great shots that enhance the action’s fast-paced visuals.
In keeping with the shift in location, the film also introduces a cast of characters from around the world. In addition to Jackson and Butler, the group consists of former UFC champion turned UFC commentator Michael Bisping, Swedish actor Evin Ahmad, and Italian actor Salvatore Esposito. Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven and fellow UFC alum Ciryl Gane also feature. With such a varied cast, Gudegast confirmed that the movie will have multilingual characters. Their connection to a huge diamond heist that puts Donnie in hot water with some even more dangerous individuals will be their only similarity.
