Vin Diesel, star of Fast & Furious, provides an update on the franchise’s endgame strategy, including the number of upcoming films and Dwayne Johnson’s comeback as Luke Hobbs. Diesel made a comeback last year as Dom Toretto in Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast Saga, following his role in the first installment back in 2001. Although a Hobbs spinoff film was revealed last year and Fast X: Part 2 is now confirmed to be coming (and appears to be in production), it is still unknown how many more films will be in the franchise overall.
In a recent update on the Fast & Furious franchise’s finale, Diesel posted on Instagram, effectively indicating that it may not be finalized just yet. The actor and producer claims that Comcast is still interested in a Fast & Furious 12 in addition to the originally scheduled Fast X: Part 2.
In addition to suggesting that Fast X: Part 2 may be aiming for a March 2026 release date, Diesel provides an update alongside an image of Dom and Hobbs during the Fast Five (2011) filming, indicating that he and franchise writer Chris Morgan are interested in a Dom and Hobbs reunion on screen. Diesel concludes his post by expressing his desire to return to action scenes that are more realistic and “real street racing.”
